This is a picture of the
oil return line dumping back into the oil pan. While we were sceptical
at first mostly
for cosmetic purposes about
putting the oil return line into the oil pan, Royal's Mitsu 6DR5 setup
was line
this as are several turbo
setups I've seen, including Ian
Bragg's and a few from Ray
Hall turbocharging in
Australia.
Actually putting the hole
in the oil pan somewhat went against everything I had been taught (purposely
putting a
hole in the oil pan?).
I used a hammer and small chisel punch to make the hole and gradually widened
it with
various tools. We
assembled a custom brass fitting joint at the oil pan and very carefully
welded it to the pan
to insure no other holes
in the pan.
