UPDATE: MARCH 2007
This website stopped being updated in 2003, unfortunately.  We found that the growth of information on the Internet was so large that eventually better information began to surpass the info here.  At the peak of it's popularity this site was recieving nearly 500,000 visitors a year.

Today, we personally have now done two major diesel engine swaps into Land Cruisers with several more planned, mostly using the Cummins 4BT 4 cyl 3.9L engines.  (Most of the info here is from before we did a major swap).  We also have served as a key consultancy about information to some of the large shops that are now doing diesel conversions, Proffitt's Cruiser's in Colorado, and TLC in Van Nuys, Calif.

There has also been explosive growth in the industry and concept in general.  Today, Isuzudieselswapper.com is selling Isuzu conversion kits (we will be rebuilding an installing a 4BD1T in June of this year), and there is relevant info all over the place.

For Land Cruiser info, we recommend the forums at IH8mud.com, and for interest in the Cummins 4BT swap, check out a site we own called 4BTswaps.com which discusses this and other diesel engine swaps.

We stopped accepting emails in about 2004 because we found we were getting very little work done because we were always answering questions about diesel swaps.  We recommend figuring out which engine you want, then via Google you can turn up lots of good info.

This site still contains mostly relevant info though there are a number of errors here so don't take everything here as gospel...   That said, this site can serve as a useful resource for you which is why we never took it down.  If you still have questions, feel free to contact us via the contact page at 4BTswaps.com -- thanks...

Welcome
Welcome to CIS's site about diesel Toyota Land Cruisers and Land Cruisers in general.  The information provided here is not meant to be taken as as gospel, it is meant to strictly provide additional information for potential projects you may be considering and/or working on.  For most of the items described here, tons and tons of research will be needed and this is meant to serve as one moresource and hopefully we can point you to other sites that you will find helpful too.  We love comments and would love to hear them as well, likewise anything useful and informative I'm more than willing to post....
